New Universal HDD Machines in Florida

A3 Mechanic is a Universal HDD dealer in Florida, and we stock new UNI directional drills, UNIMIX mud mixers, UNITANK mixing tanks, UNIMUD pumps and the UNI line of drilling fluids at our shop at 4350 Hogshead Rd in Apopka. These are HDD rigs engineered for power, precision and long term durability, from compact drills up to large capacity machines, and they can be bought as complete packages with rig, tooling and mud system together. Pickup is at the Apopka shop, or ask about delivery. Call (689) 688-6796 to talk through sizing.

What we carry

Universal HDD. The drill line is the center of this page. The UNI 12x20 is the compact rig for utility and fiber work in tight residential right of way. The UNI 20x22 Bottom Feed steps up rod capacity and adds bottom feed rod handling. The UNI 25 and the UNI 25 Bottom Feed are the large capacity end of the line for longer bores and bigger product. Each of them can leave as a package built around the drill rather than as a bare machine, which matters when your crew has to be productive the week it arrives.

Mud Mixers. Mud is what makes or breaks a bore, so the mixer is not an afterthought. The UNIMIX 13 HDD Mud Mixer is the small unit for a single compact rig. The UNIMIX 13L Electric Mixer covers the same size in an electric drive. The UNIMIX 24 HDD Mud Mixer handles higher volume, and the UNIMIX 44D Diesel Mud Mixer is the diesel unit for crews running larger rigs or two crews off one mud system.

Mixing Tanks. The UNITANK 750 Mixing Tank and the UNITANK 1000 Mixing Tank cover most crews, and the UNITANK 1000R Mixing Tank is the same capacity in the R configuration. The UNITANK 500R Mud Mixing Tank is the smaller option for compact rigs and short runs.

Mud Pumps. The UNIMUD 325 Mud Pump handles single rig work. The UNIMUD 560 Dual Mud Pump is the dual pump unit for higher flow and for crews pushing larger reamers through harder ground.

Mud Supplies. The fluid line is stocked with the equipment: UNI-BORE HDD Bentonite and UNI-GEL HDD Bentonite, the UNI-PAC HDD Polymer, UNI-PHPA HDD Polymer and UNI-VIS HDD Polymer, and UNI-LUB HDD Lubrication. Buying fluids at the same counter as the mixer and the pump means somebody in the building knows how the three are supposed to work together.

Why buy from A3

We are a licensed equipment dealer, so title, registration and sales tax on a new machine are handled the way a dealer handles them. Behind the dealer license is a working diesel and HDD shop. A3 Mechanic was founded in 2023 and the mechanics here have more than twenty years each on heavy machinery, HDD rigs and work trucks.

That matters more on a new rig than people expect. The shop that sells you the drill is the shop that services it, rebuilds the hydraulics, welds the fabrication work and keeps the tooling on the shelf. We service what we sell and we stock what we service. HDD parts, drill pipe, reamers, sub savers, sonde housings and mud supplies are in the same building as the new machines, along with locators from DigiTrak, Subsite, Underground Magnetics and Radiodetection. Trailers are here too, including sales, manufacturing and refurbishing, so a rig, the mud system and the way you move both can come from one place in Apopka instead of three vendors in three states.

Buying a package also changes how the first month goes. A rig that shows up without the right rod, without a mixer sized to the pump, and without a sonde housing that fits the head is a rig that sits. When the same people specify the drill, the tooling and the mud system, those pieces are matched before the machine leaves the lot, and the parts that wear are already on our shelf when you need the second set. That is what stocking what we service actually means day to day.

Who this is for

New Universal HDD equipment goes to HDD contractors who are buying their first new rig or replacing a tired machine, to utility and fiber installers taking on longer and larger bores, and to site work contractors adding directional drilling to what they already do. It also goes to fleet owners who run several crews and want the same rig, the same mud system and the same parts across all of them, because standardizing is what keeps a fleet running. Crews across Orange, Seminole, Lake and Osceola counties buy here.

How pricing works

Where the price of a machine is fixed, the price is published, so you can see what a UNI 12x20, a UNI 20x22 Bottom Feed, a UNI 25, a UNIMIX 13, a UNIMIX 24 or a UNITANK 500R costs before you call. Where the number depends on configuration, on the tooling package, or on which mud system leaves with the rig, the listing says Call for price. A complete package is built to the work you do, and quoting it any other way would be guessing. Trade-ins and consignment are both possible, so ask us about the machine you are replacing. Call (689) 688-6796 to price a package.

The shop is at 4350 Hogshead Rd, Apopka, FL 32703, open Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM. Frequently asked questions

What does it mean that A3 Mechanic is a Universal HDD dealer?

It means A3 Mechanic sells the Universal HDD line in Florida. New UNI rigs, UNIMIX mixers, UNITANK tanks, UNIMUD pumps and the UNI line of drilling fluids are sold through us, and the service and parts behind them come out of our Apopka shop rather than from another state.

Can I buy a rig, tooling and mud system together?

Yes. Universal HDD builds complete packages, so the rig, the tooling and the mud system can be specified as one order instead of assembled from three suppliers. Tell us the bore sizes and the ground you work in and we will put the package together with you. Call (689) 688-6796 to start that conversation.

Which UNI rig size should I be looking at?

It depends on rod capacity, thrust and pullback for the work you take on. The line runs from the compact UNI 12x20 up through the UNI 20x22 Bottom Feed, the UNI 25 and the UNI 25 Bottom Feed. Bring your typical bore length, diameter and soil conditions to the shop and we will walk through the sizes.

Do you stock the drilling fluids too?

We carry the Universal HDD fluid line: UNI-BORE and UNI-GEL bentonite, UNI-PAC, UNI-PHPA and UNI-VIS polymers, and UNI-LUB lubrication. Buying the fluids where you buy the mud system means the mixer, the pump and the product were picked to work together. Pickup is at the Apopka shop, or ask about delivery.

Who services a new Universal HDD machine after the sale?

We do, in the same shop in Apopka that sells it. Our mechanics have more than twenty years each on HDD rigs and heavy machinery, and we handle hydraulics in house, including diagnostics, hoses, cylinders and pumps. Shop service and mobile service are both available across Central Florida.

Machine down? Truck in the shop too long?

Talk to a mechanic at our Apopka shop, Mon to Fri, 7 AM to 5 PM. Shop and mobile service across Central Florida.
